Firefly Tutors is a mission-driven education company delivering customized, multi-sensory tutoring to students across all grade levels. Founded by educator Diane Lewis, the company began in California as A+ In Home Tutors and quickly became a top provider for charter schools statewide.
In 2021, Firefly Tutors launched to expand services nationwide. With help from Emergence Marketing Group, the company grew its systems, entered new markets, and increased visibility, while staying focused on one goal: helping every student reach their full potential.
The Challenge
New Markets, New Growth, and the Need for Clarity
Firefly Tutors had a well-established presence in California, where they partnered with state-funded programs to deliver low- and no-cost tutoring. But when the Step Up for Students scholarship program launched in Florida, Firefly saw an opportunity to expand—and a steep learning curve.
They needed to build brand awareness from the ground up in Florida while simultaneously scaling student enrollments in California to support growth. Internally, Firefly lacked CRM infrastructure, automation, and tracking systems—making it difficult to follow up with leads efficiently or understand what was working. Their marketing efforts were driven by gut instinct instead of data.
